Create Newegg items with a batch template

Which Newegg template creates items?

Download it in Seller Portal from Items, then Batch Item Creation/Update. On Download File Template, choose Batch Item Creation, choose Excel, pick the industry and category, and download. Enter the items on the Datafeed sheet. Do not remove, update, or modify the column names or the sheet names. The page says the file will be rejected if you do.

During creation, Newegg looks at the Manufacturer Part# and/or UPC (GTIN) for the manufacturer or brand you entered. If it finds a match, your SKU is listed under that matched product. If it does not, Newegg creates a new listing from your product information. MSRP can be updated only by the manufacturer.

What can you change on the Datafeed sheet?

Basic information is columns A through AH. Required cells in that range are marked in red text. Definitions, accepted values, and requirements are on the Basic Item Info – Definitions sheet. Subcategory information starts at column AI and changes with the category. Required subcategory cells are also in red text. Group-by cells are in blue text, and both accept only predefined values. Those values are on the Detail Item Info – Values sheet.

The page does not name the headers in columns A through AH, so this guide does not invent them. If a required or group-by value is not in the list, the academy page says to email Newegg Marketplace Content at mktp.content@newegg.com with the subcategory ID, the property name, and the property value. That request is not something to type into an empty cell.

How do you map a supplier file into that template?

1. Download Batch Item Creation for the industry and category you will list. Keep Excel as the file type. Record the category and the download date.
2. In Golanto, choose Newegg. Record whether the account is Newegg.com, Neweggbusiness.com, or Newegg.ca, plus the category and the date.
3. Map your columns onto the Datafeed headers. Do not rename sheets or columns. Fill the red required cells. Choose subcategory and group-by values only from the predefined lists.
4. Use the Batch Create Existing Items template, not this one, when you need to change a description, bullet points, lead time, or property values on an item that already exists.
5. Upload from the Upload File tab. The status list shows the last 3 days unless you change the date filter. Refresh the list. Open View Details when the status is Failed or Completed with errors.

Worked example

A supplier UPC is not yet a Newegg Datafeed row

These headings are a supplier sketch. Type the values on the Datafeed sheet of the category template you downloaded, under the headers Newegg already put there. Keep the UPC as text. A match on manufacturer part number or UPC for that brand lists your SKU under the existing product. This creation file still cannot update most fields on an item you already sell.
