Practical guidance
Create Newegg items that already exist in the catalog
Newegg’s Batch Create Existing Items article creates an item from a product that is already in Newegg’s catalog. If the catalog does not contain that item, the article says the system will not create it. The download is Batch Item Creation with the box Create Items that exist on Newegg checked. The article lists Newegg.com, Neweggbusiness.com, and Newegg.ca, and it says it was updated on 4 January 2023.
Which Newegg download creates an item already in the catalog?
It is the file from Seller Portal, Items, Batch Item Creation/Update, on the Download File Template tab. Select Batch Item Creation and check Create Items that exist on Newegg, then choose the template file type and download it. For new sellers using data-feed templates, the article recommends Microsoft Excel, because that format can include an Instructions sheet, a Basic Item Info – Definitions sheet, and/or a Detail Item Info – Values sheet.
The Batch Create New Items article, updated on 24 December 2024, uses the same menu and tells you to pick an industry and a category. It does not mention the checkbox. That creation article also says its own template cannot update most properties, and it points sellers to the Batch Create Existing Items template for description, bullet points, lead time, and property values. The existing-items article reviewed here does not name those fields.
What do you type on the Datafeed sheet?
Enter all item information on the Datafeed sheet. The article says not to remove, update, or modify the column names or the sheet names, because that causes the upload to fail. Definitions, accepted values, and requirements are on the Basic Item Info – Definitions sheet. The article does not print the Datafeed headers, so those names have to come from the file you downloaded.
When the item’s information is in Newegg’s catalog, the system creates the item. When it is not, the system does not create the item. The article says to review Batch Create New Items for items that fail because they do not exist in the system.
How do you map a supplier row onto that download?
- In Seller Portal, open Items, then Batch Item Creation/Update. On Download File Template, select Batch Item Creation, check Create Items that exist on Newegg, and download. Record whether the account is Newegg.com, Neweggbusiness.com, or Newegg.ca, plus the download date.
- In Golanto, choose Newegg. Record that this file used the Create Items that exist on Newegg checkbox, and record the account and the date.
- Map your columns onto the headers already on the Datafeed sheet. Leave the column names and the sheet names as downloaded. Read accepted values on Basic Item Info – Definitions.
- If Newegg’s catalog does not contain the item, use the subcategory Batch Item Creation download. This article says the system will not create that item.
- Upload from the Upload File tab with Select files, then UPLOAD FILES. The date filter shows the last 3 days unless you change it. Click REFRESH LIST. When the status is Completed, Failed, or Completed with errors, open View Details.
Worked example
A supplier UPC is not yet a Newegg catalog match
seller_part,manufacturer_part,upc
MUG-04,NW-MUG-04,09501234567891These headings are a supplier sketch. Type the values on the Datafeed sheet of the file you downloaded with Create Items that exist on Newegg checked, under the headers Newegg already put there. Keep the UPC as text. The existing-items article says Newegg creates the item when the catalog already has that information, and does not create it when the catalog does not. It does not say which Datafeed column stores a description, a bullet point, lead time, or a property value.
What this check cannot establish
Golanto does not upload to Newegg or decide whether a product is in the catalog. This page uses the Batch Create Existing Items article reviewed on 1 November 2026, which says it was updated on 4 January 2023, and the Batch Create New Items article reviewed the same day. Seller Portal still labels the menu choice Batch Item Creation. This article adds the checkbox and does not tell you to pick an industry and category. It does not list Datafeed headers, and it does not state a file-size cap. The creation article’s note about description, bullet points, lead time, and property values is not repeated as column names here. Use the labels on the file you downloaded. These steps name Newegg.com, Neweggbusiness.com, and Newegg.ca.
