What file matches products already on Walmart.com?

It is the template from Catalog, Add items, Upload in bulk, then Build spreadsheet under Match items. The US guide reviewed here was last updated on 24 June 2026. If you sell in more than one market, choose the markets first. For the United States, you enter the GTINs for the items you wish to bulk-edit. After you submit them, Walmart tries to match those GTINs and pre-populates available item information.

GTIN matching is only available for eligible marketplaces and fulfillment methods. The guide says unsupported methods appear greyed out in Seller Center. If some GTINs do not match, read the GTIN match submission results. When the error pop-up appears, Copy GTINs copies the unmatched GTINs so you can create those as new items. The same guide points that case to full setup.

Which cells does that match template require?

SKU is required to set up the offer. The template groups cells as Required, Conditional/Required for Specific Conditions, and Optional. The Required section has to be filled completely. A missing field in that section produces data errors.

Main Image URL is required when the condition is Remanufactured, Pre-Owned: Like New, Pre-Owned: Good, Pre-Owned: Fair, or New with defects. Optional cells on this guide are seller-fulfilled inventory, entered as a fulfillment center and a quantity; Additional Image URL; and Sales Restrictions when the product must or should be kept out of certain states and ZIP codes for a legal or commercial reason. Do not modify the data in the first six rows. The guide says that change, along with missing required or conditionally required information, leads to data errors. The names SKU and Main Image URL are fields this guide states. They are not a copy of the downloaded header row.

How do you map a supplier list onto the match file?

1. In Seller Center, open Catalog, Add items, Upload in bulk, and build the spreadsheet under Match items. Choose the markets. For the United States, submit the GTINs and read the match results before you download.
2. Choose how you will fulfill the items and download the file. Record the market and the download date.
3. In Golanto, choose Walmart. Record that this file is the match template, not full setup, plus the market and the date.
4. Map your seller SKU onto SKU. Leave the first six rows as Walmart generated them. Fill every Required cell. Add Main Image URL when the condition is one of the pre-owned, remanufactured, or new-with-defects values the guide names.
5. Upload from Add items, Upload in bulk, by dragging the file in or browsing to it. Read the Activity Feed. Walmart says updates may take up to 24 hours, and data errors need extra processing time.

Worked example

A supplier GTIN is entered before the match template exists

These headings are a supplier sketch. On the US match flow, you submit the GTIN in Seller Center, and Walmart pre-populates what it can. The downloaded template still needs a SKU. Keep the barcode as text so a spreadsheet does not drop the leading zero. Do not paste this header over the first six rows, and do not use the full-setup file for a GTIN that already matched.
