Prepare a Wayfair Item Spec Sheet without guessed columns

Wayfair’s public SKU article says suppliers upload product information during SKU Addition, and that an Item Spec Sheet and Item Spec Sheet Guide can carry basic information and class-specific details for products in up to 15 classes. Those pages do not print the sheet’s column headers. Option-level naming on the merchandising update is stated for Wayfair US and Wayfair Canada. The onboarding checklist speaks about your selling region, so this is one page for that public guidance, not a separate file for every country.

Which Wayfair file do the public pages actually name?

The SKU article, dated 6 September 2023, says a SKU is Wayfair’s catalog identifier and describes four kinds: a standalone product, a composite made of parts, a sellable component that can also be sold alone, and a true component that must be sold inside a composite. Its examples are a light fixture for standalone, a bed for composite, a headboard for a sellable component, and rails for a true component. During SKU Addition, suppliers upload identifiers, specs, bundling information, details, descriptions, images, videos, and guides.

The same article says the Item Spec Sheet is one way to upload that information at once, including basic information such as name, price, and images, plus class-specific details, for up to 15 classes. The words “name”, “price”, and “images” are the article’s examples. They are not a header row printed on the page. The adding-assortment page lists what to compile before you build the catalog: model numbers, brand names, product names, pricing, and UPC/EAN, then carton quantities, collections, weights, dimensions, features, materials, and product compliance details and certifications. That is a preparation list. It is not the Item Spec Sheet’s column titles.

Which selling region does this Wayfair guidance cover?

The onboarding checklist says to prepare at least three images per product at a minimum of 1000 by 1000 pixels, and detailed specs such as product name, model or manufacturer part number, supplier part number, classification, materials, options, dimensions, weight, carton dimensions, care, wholesale cost, and product warnings when they apply. It says items excluded from Wayfair are perishables, certain electronics, and medical devices. It also says to dropship from a warehouse in your selling region, and to provide a bank account that can receive the selling market’s currency. Its examples are USD, CAD, EUR, and GBP. Orders, inventory, and tracking can be Portal or EDI/API. The checklist says to upload positive inventory so products can be purchased. It does not place those inventory fields on the Item Spec Sheet.

The merchandising update is about Partner Home after products exist. It says you can assign distinct option names, and its example is “Blue Chair” versus “Red Chair”, for parts of the customer experience on Wayfair US and Wayfair Canada. It says bulk spreadsheet edits can cover product names, feature bullets, marketing copy, and attributes, and that a change can be applied from one part to all parts within a SKU. The same page describes real-time validations inside Excel templates as part of a product-addition experience that is coming, and it asks suppliers to join a beta. That future note is not a header list for the sheet you download today. A sheet downloaded for one selling region is the file for that region.

How do you map a supplier file onto the sheet Partner Home gives you?

  1. In Partner Home, download the Item Spec Sheet for the class and the selling region you are listing. The four public pages name that sheet and do not host it.
  2. In Golanto, choose Wayfair. Record the selling region, the class, and the date you downloaded the sheet. The mapper still opens on Amazon until you change the platform.
  3. Map supplier values onto the headers in the downloaded sheet. Leave class-specific columns as the sheet prints them. Do not add a column because the SKU article used name, price, or images as examples.
  4. Keep the checklist’s image count beside the file: three or more, at least 1000 by 1000 pixels. The assortment page says three images to start, mixing environmental and silo shots. Neither page names an image column.
  5. Upload positive inventory by the path you selected, Portal or EDI/API. Do not invent an inventory column on the Item Spec Sheet. The checklist keeps that upload separate from the specification list.

These headings are a synthetic supplier sketch. The SKU article says an Item Spec Sheet can include basic information such as name, price, and images, plus class-specific details, for up to 15 classes. It does not print those words as column headers. Download the sheet for the selling region and class, and type on that file. “Blue Chair” and “Red Chair” are the merchandising page’s example of option-level names on Wayfair US and Wayfair Canada. They are not cells in this sketch.

What this check cannot establish

Golanto does not log in to Partner Home, download the Item Spec Sheet, or decide which class-specific fields the sheet requires. This page uses four public Sell with Wayfair pages retrieved on 1 November 2026. The SKU article shows 6 September 2023. None of the four pages prints a header row, an error sentence, or a cell color. The merchandising update describes Excel-template validations as what is coming, and it invites a beta. That is not the sheet a supplier downloads today. Option-level naming is stated for Wayfair US and Wayfair Canada. The checklist’s currency examples are USD, CAD, EUR, and GBP for whichever selling market the account uses. A file for one region is not evidence for another. The checklist’s excluded-category wording is perishables, certain electronics, and medical devices. This page does not expand “certain electronics”.

Common questions

Does sell.wayfair.com publish the Item Spec Sheet columns?

No. The SKU article names the Item Spec Sheet and the Item Spec Sheet Guide, and it says the sheet can cover up to 15 classes, with basic information such as name, price, and images. It does not print the header row. Download the sheet in Partner Home for the class and selling region you are listing.

Is the Wayfair bulk-edit spreadsheet the same file as the Item Spec Sheet?

The public pages do not say that. The SKU article describes the Item Spec Sheet for adding product information. The merchandising update describes spreadsheet edits to product names, feature bullets, marketing copy, and attributes on products that are already in Partner Home, including option names on Wayfair US and Wayfair Canada. Use the file the screen you have open asks you to download.
