Choose the Zalando CSV for one market
Zalando’s public Partner University describes two different files, and they belong to two different partnership models. For Partner Program partners on Zalando Fulfillment Solutions, the zDirect UI article says you create articles on screen and download a pre-filled price CSV. For Connected Retail, the integration article says the shop exports inventory by EAN as a CSV. Neither article prints a header row. A row you delete to leave one market is a decision for that market.
Which file does Partner Program zDirect actually give you?
The zDirect UI article, updated 19 April 2024, is for partners who integrate directly and use Zalando Fulfillment Solutions. It says article onboarding through the UI is recommended when the assortment is up to 200 articles per season. It also says there is technically no limit above 200, and that entering one standard article with three colour variants takes about five minutes. You choose Use zDirect User Interface on the onboarding dashboard. After account approval you open Onboard articles. Create articles opens the Article Creation UI. That step is a screen, and the article does not attach a product spreadsheet to it.
Set prices appears after articles are submitted for review. The Set prices button downloads a pre-filled price template as a CSV. To keep an EAN out of one market, delete the entire row for that EAN. The article allows that only when the EAN had no previous price in the market you are excluding. Submitted prices are validated automatically, within a maximum of one hour when the prices match articles that already exist. If the articles are still in review, validation waits until that review finishes. If prices need correction, Manage prices can download a Price Validation report. The article names the report and does not list its columns. Germany or France appears only as a possible EPR task on the dashboard. That task is not a column on the price CSV.
What does the mapping guide name, and what does Connected Retail ask for instead?
The article mapping guide, updated 31 August 2026, is about matching your names and values to Zalando’s for Textile, Shoes, Sports, Accessories, Beauty, Toys, and Electronics. For every category it asks for age group, article name, brand, silhouette, gender, and size chart; main colour, supplier colour, supplier SKU, and season; and current price, currency, EAN, partner SKU, size, and images that follow Zalando’s image guidelines. Those are attributes to gather before onboarding. The guide does not present them as the header of the price CSV. Supplier colour is the colour name you use, in lowercase, and the guide’s examples of non-colour phrases are “peruvian summer”, “deep depths”, and “ice blue”. Main colour is the shop filter. The guide says to select multicoloured only when the article has at least three distinct colours, and that black and white do not count toward the three.
The price article, updated 21 April 2026, says you set prices yourself. Its three methods are an integrator such as Tradebyte, with prices in the local currency of each country; the zDirect Price API; and the zDirect user interface for a direct integration. It does not describe the price CSV. Connected Retail is a separate model. Its integration article says the merchandise system must export stock as a CSV, transmitted by EAN, ideally every 15 to 60 minutes, with price and stock in the same update file. The Fashion Connector Importer does not create articles, ignores stock and price changes for articles it did not already have, and treats the latest file as the full stock and price position. You can validate that CSV manually at an endpoint the article writes as /{client_id}/validate. The same article also mentions a master data sheet, a logistics Excel sheet from Zalando, and a logo PNG of 700 by 225 pixels. Those are not the inventory CSV.
How do you map a supplier file onto the Zalando file you downloaded?
- Confirm which Zalando model the contract uses. Partner Program zDirect UI and Connected Retail are different files. Download the price CSV from Set prices, or export the Connected Retail inventory CSV from the merchandise system. The public pages do not host either header row.
- In Golanto, choose Zalando. Record the model, the market, and the date you downloaded or exported the file. The mapper still opens on Amazon until you change the platform.
- Map supplier values onto the headers in the file you have. Leave the mapping guide’s attribute names, including EAN and partner SKU, as attributes. Do not turn that list into a header the price article never printed.
- On the Partner Program price CSV, delete a whole EAN row only when you mean to exclude that EAN from that market and the article’s condition is met: no previous price for that EAN in that market.
- On a Connected Retail file, send price and stock together, including a stock-out. The integration article says the latest file replaces the previous stock and prices, and that the importer does not create the article.
Worked example
A supplier row is not a Zalando price CSV or inventory CSV
sku,title,price
COAT-4,Wool coat,189.00These headings are a synthetic supplier sketch. The zDirect UI article says the price download is a pre-filled CSV and that an EAN row can be deleted for one market. It does not print the columns. The mapping guide’s words, including EAN, partner SKU, and supplier colour, are attributes to prepare. The Connected Retail article asks for inventory by EAN in a CSV and does not print that header either. Do not upload this sketch to zDirect or to the Fashion Connector.
What this check cannot establish
Golanto does not sign in to zDirect, submit a price CSV, or call the Connected Retail API. This page uses four Zalando Partner University articles retrieved on 2 November 2026. The zDirect UI article shows 19 April 2024, the mapping guide shows 31 August 2026, and the price article shows 21 April 2026. The integration article does not show an updated date. None of them prints a header row, a cell colour, or an import-error sentence. The price-updates URL https://partner.zalando.com/university/article/price-updates-in-zdirect returned the university shell without the article, so it is not quoted. A price file for one market is the file for that market. Connected Retail’s inventory CSV is a store-stock file for shops whose EANs already overlap Zalando, and the article says additional assortment is a separate topic. The recommended UI size of 200 articles per season is the article’s recommendation, and the same article says there is no technical limit.

Common questions
Does Zalando publish one product CSV that covers every country?
The public pages retrieved here do not. Partner Program zDirect UI creates articles on screen and downloads a pre-filled price CSV. You can delete an EAN’s row to exclude that EAN from one market, and only when that EAN had no previous price there. Connected Retail uses a different inventory CSV, sent by EAN, and that importer does not create articles.
Can I use the mapping guide’s attribute list as the price CSV header?
The mapping guide tells you to gather attributes such as article name, brand, EAN, partner SKU, current price, and currency. It describes attribute mapping for an integrator or in-house system. It does not say those words are the columns of the price CSV you download from Set prices. Use the header on the file zDirect or the merchandise system gave you.
