List products with a Mercado Libre bulk spreadsheet

Mercado Libre’s English List in bulk lesson lists products on Mercado Libre and Mercado Shops from one Excel spreadsheet. You choose the categories, download that file, and upload it once. The lesson does not say this workbook is the spreadsheet for every Mercado Libre country site.

What spreadsheet does List in bulk download?

It is the Excel file from the Listings menu, then List, then In bulk, after you choose categories. Recent categories appear when you already have listings. A new family is searched under Category for Blank Form. The lesson’s examples of a family search are Microwave, Sneakers, and Videogames. You can also search by product ID so Mercado Libre can locate those codes in its catalog, or browse the category list when a search misses.

Each spreadsheet can be used to list only once. You can upload only spreadsheets downloaded in the last 30 days with your user. The lesson sets the maximum at 10,000 listings per day.

Which parts of that spreadsheet can you change?

Do not change tab names, do not add tabs, and do not remove the colored rows that contain details and help. The lesson says those rows are how Mercado Libre reads the file. It does not name the color. Fill the details marked Required. The lesson recommends filling the other fields as well. A variation is another copy of the row, not a new tab.

When the product has no universal code, or no detail from the product specification sheet, type N/A or Not applicable. Photos are added through the Photo Management tool in the photo column. You need the copyright or the owner’s authorization. The lesson does not list the category columns, so those names have to come from the file you downloaded.

How do you map a catalog onto that spreadsheet?

  1. In the Mercado Libre account that will receive the listings, choose the categories and download the spreadsheet. Record the download date. That file lists only once.
  2. In Golanto, choose Mercado Libre. Record the market, the categories on the tabs, and the download date.
  3. Map your columns onto the headers in the tab for that category. Leave the tab names and the colored help rows as downloaded. Type N/A or Not applicable only where the lesson allows it.
  4. Put each variation on its own row. Add photos from the Photo Management tool in the photo column.
  5. Upload from the Help tab’s Upload Excel spreadsheet link, or from Listings, List, In bulk, Upload Excel spreadsheet. The lesson says the upload cannot be stopped once it starts. You can close the screen and wait for the email. If some rows fail, download the error file, read the Error summary column, and upload that corrected file.

Worked example

A supplier row is not yet a Mercado Libre category tab

Inspect this record
sku,name,universal_code
MUG-04,Travel mug,

These headings are a supplier sketch. Download the spreadsheet after you choose the category, and type on that category’s tab. If this mug has no universal code, the English lesson says to type N/A or Not applicable. A second color is a duplicated row. Do not rename the tabs or delete the colored help rows. This spreadsheet cannot be uploaded a second time.

What this check cannot establish

Golanto does not log in to Mercado Libre, choose the category, or upload the spreadsheet. This page uses the English lesson at sellers.mercadolibre.com reviewed on 1 November 2026. The page title says five steps and the URL says four; the steps above follow the page text. It does not name a file-size cap or the required columns, and it does not say the same file works on every country site. Mercado Shops is named as a destination of this tool, not as a second template. The error file underlines failed details in red and adds a column called Error summary. Golanto cannot see that file until you download it.

Common questions

Can I upload the same Mercado Libre spreadsheet twice?

No. The lesson says each spreadsheet can be used to list only once. You can upload only spreadsheets downloaded in the last 30 days with your user, and the daily maximum is 10,000 listings.

What should I type when a product has no universal code?

Type N/A or Not applicable. The lesson says to do that when the product has no universal code, or when it has no detail from the product specification sheet.
