Read an Etsy listing CSV
An Etsy listing CSV is a download of listings that are currently for sale. Etsy Help says the file includes title, description, price, currency, quantity, tags, materials, image URLs, and SKUs. Etsy does not provide a way to upload that CSV to create new listings.
What is in an Etsy listing CSV?
You download it from Shop Manager under Settings, Options, Download Data. Etsy’s help article limits that file to active listings. Sold-out or expired listings are absent unless you renew them first, and renewal has its own listing fee. The file is meant to be opened in a spreadsheet. It is not a template Etsy will accept back as new listings.
Why does one Etsy row break a variant import?
Etsy keeps a listing on one row and can place several variation values in one cell. Shopify’s migration guide says a Shopify product CSV needs a separate row for each variant, a shared handle, and option columns. A shirt in two sizes is two Shopify rows, not one Etsy cell that reads “S, M”.

- Download a fresh CSV from Etsy. Do not edit the only copy.
- Open it in Golanto’s CSV validator and confirm quotes, commas inside descriptions, and the delimiter.
- If the destination is a marketplace template, open the template mapper, choose Etsy as the source platform, and map columns onto the template you supply.
- Split variation cells yourself before a row-per-variant import. Golanto will not invent the missing variant rows.

What this check cannot establish
Golanto cannot create Etsy listings, renew sold-out items, or split a variation cell into rows you did not provide. Etsy Help says new listings are created in Shop Manager, including by copying an existing listing. Digital listings do not use the same variation model as physical listings.

Common questions
Can I bulk upload new Etsy listings with a CSV?
No. Etsy Help says there is no bulk upload for new listings. The listing CSV is a download of active listings. You create a new listing in Shop Manager, or copy an existing one and edit the copy.
